Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation (MPC) offers internship and co-ops opportunities to high-performing college students who want meaningful hands-on experiences in their fields of study. Interns work side-by-side with experienced professionals across Refining, Midstream, and related services, with exposure to HES&S training and corporate policies.

Responsibilities include interpreting environmental policies, developing programs, ensuring compliance, and assisting with reports and permits.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Science.
• Concurrent enrollment in a degree program for the internship duration.
• Strong academic performance.
• Available to work on site 40 hours per week.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and ascend stairs as required.
• Valid driver’s license for work-related travel.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Available for multiple work terms preferred.
• MIN - $24.09 per hour / MAX - $43.23 per hour

Responsibilities

• Interpret and/or develop environmental policies and guidelines.
• Provide guidance in organizing programs and procedures to implement requirements.
• Design and/or review environmental equipment specifications and costs.
• Investigate environmental issues and communicate recommendations to management.
• Monitor regulatory actions and prepare required permits and reports.
• Develop environmental information, manuals, and training materials.
