Job summary

Safe Place for Youth in Venice, CA, is seeking the Senior Director of Development and Communications to lead fundraising and communications efforts. Reporting to the Chief Impact Officer, you will guide donor relations, stewardship, and marketing initiatives to support youth experiencing homelessness.

You will manage a team, develop multi-year strategies, work with the Board and leadership, and serve as a spokesperson while ensuring consistency of the brand across social media, newsletters,

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in developing fundraising strategies and managing year-round fundraising efforts.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey the organization’s mission and impact.
• Experience in managing communications programs that have driven measurable stakeholder engagement and growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead team to develop and execute multi-year strategic fundraising and communications goals and annual work plans.
• Oversee donor relations, cultivation, and stewardship with high-net-worth individuals and corporate partners.
• Mentor and supervise the team, ensuring a collaborative and results-driven environment.
• Manage a portfolio of donors and organizations, driving tailored cultivation plans.
• Oversee the implementation of Marketing & Communications strategy and materials.
• Serve as a spokesperson for the organization and align communications with brand vision.
