Job summary

Safe Place for Youth (SPY) is seeking a Senior Director of Development and Communications to lead fundraising and communications programs, reporting to the Chief Impact Officer. This role focuses on strengthening financial support, public image, and strategic marketing initiatives to support youth experiencing homelessness.

The position involves leading a team, managing major donor relations, and guiding corporate partnerships, with a hybrid schedule at the Venice, CA Access Center.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience developing fundraising strategies and managing year-round fundraising efforts (required).
• Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills to engage with diverse donors and partners.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey the organization’s mission and impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-year fundraising and communications goals and annual work plans.
• Oversee donor portfolio and strategy around identification, cultivation, and solicitation.
• Mentor and develop team in a collaborative work environment.
• Manage corporate donor portfolio and foundations outreach.
• Provide strategic direction to Marketing & Communications to align messaging with brand and growth.
