Job summary

The Link Minnesota is seeking a strategic Development Director to advance its mission of reducing youth homelessness and social injustice. You will lead a comprehensive development program including communications, marketing and all private fundraising—focusing on annual fund revenue, major gifts, foundations and corporate partnerships.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of related professional and leadership experience.
• At least 2-5 years of supervisory experience.
• Established successful track record in fundraising.
• Experience managing successful special events and fundraising efforts.
• Proven grant writing and editing skills.
• Proficiency with WordPress and website management.
• Knowledge of local grant-making institutions, foundations and resources.
• Public speaking experience.
• Experience with mass mailings and fundraising campaigns.
• Knowledge of social service agency operations, youth homelessness, sex trafficking and juvenile justice.
• Ability to work on deadlines and juggle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to meet the organization's development goals.
• Work with the Executive Team to establish a fundraising plan and participate in strategic planning.
• Research donor prospects and gift opportunities and advise on which to pursue.
• Identify funding sources whose guidelines match the agency's needs.
• Develop and implement strategies for securing major gifts with CEO/COO.
• Create donor segmentation for portfolio management and solicitations.
• Maintain a portfolio of major donors and prospects for cultivation and solicitation.
• Use donor data to improve year-over-year giving and donor engagement.
• Collaborate with Finance and leadership to align budgets with program needs.
• Lead staff and volunteers in executing development efforts.
