Job summary

Horizon-Health-Alliance seeks a Community Outreach and Training Specialist to build relationships with community organizations and schools in the Western New York region. You will coordinate trainings, collect documentation, and report outcomes to ensure inquiries and resources are addressed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1–3 years in behavioral health, with strong public speaking and outreach skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, public health, education is required.
• 1–3 years’ experience working in behavioral health preferred.
• Strong commitment to mental health awareness, prevention, and community well‑being.
• Public speaking skills with experience facilitating training or educational programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships and serve as a liaison with community organizations, schools, and/or groups regarding training materials, resources, and referral information throughout the WNY region.
• Become certified in Evidence-Based suicide prevention and mental health awareness training.
• Facilitate trainings and provide follow-up activities to organizations, schools and/or groups.
• Responsible for providing training scheduling, collecting training documentation, reporting, and follow-up to ensure inquiries are addressed.
• Represent the program at community events, coalitions, and outreach initiatives.
• Support partnership development and community engagement activities.
• Performs other related duties and activities as required.
