Job summary

Horizon is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator to join our Getzville-based team. You will build relationships with community organizations, coordinate training initiatives, and manage outreach logistics to support mental health education across the Western New York region.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and strong communication skills, with 1–3 years in a related field preferred. This grant-funded, full-time position involves local travel and occasional evenings or weekends for

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, public health, education, or a related field is required.
• 1-3 years' experience working in behavioral health or related field preferred.
• Strong commitment to mental health awareness, prevention, and community well-being.
• Strong public speaking skills with experience facilitating trainings or educational programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships and serve as a liaison with community organizations, schools, and/or groups regarding training materials, resources, and referral information throughout the WNY region.
• Become certified in Evidence-Based suicide prevention and mental health awareness training, facilitate training and follow-up activities to organizations, schools and/or groups.
• Provide training outreach, scheduling, collecting training documentation, event logistics, reporting, and follow-up.
• Collect, analyze, and report program performance and outcome data.
• Coordinate distribution of community resources, educational materials, and training announcements.
• Represent the program at community events, coalitions, and outreach initiatives.
• Support partnership development and community engagement activities.
• Performs other related duties and activities as required.
