Job summary

WellLife Network in Elmont, NY seeks an EES Specialist to manage systems tracking benefit applications and appeals, explain options to consumers, and liaise with government agencies until the consumer is educated and can advocate for themselves.

The role emphasizes HIPAA confidentiality, eligibility screening, assistance with applications, and travel to ALJ hearings and SSA visits, with a focus on preparing narratives and reports on benefits status.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Must be able to exercise good follow-up and documentation skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities populations is required.
• Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and own a vehicle for work time.

Responsibilities

• Maintain confidentiality in respect to HIPAA laws at all times.
• Screen consumers to assess eligibility for private and/or governmental benefits.
• Assist consumers in completing all applications for benefits.
• Travel to governmental/private agencies (e.g., ALJ hearings, interviews, Social Security visits).
• Maintain consumer financial status information and prepare narratives and statistical reports.
