Job summary

The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a CGT Facility-IMCPL Laboratory Manager IV to direct day-to-day operations in Health Sciences Core Research Facilities on the Pittsburgh campus. This role ensures safety compliance, manages equipment and inventory, and writes grant-related documents.

You will lead cell culture, immunology, analytical development, and flow cytometry programs, guiding collaborations to translate research into scalable, quality-assured processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience with cell culture, flow cytometry, and immunology methods.
• Ability to develop, validate, and transfer assays.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of primary-cell isolation, enrichment, activation, culture, expansion, harvest, and handling procedures.
• Design studies linking manufacturing conditions to quality attributes and sampling plans.
• Lead development, qualification, validation, and lifecycle management of molecular, cellular, biochemical, and functional methods.
• Lead multiparameter flow cytometry panel design, sample preparation, staining, instrument setup, compensation, gating, and reporting.
• Develop and optimize assays for T-cell activation, proliferation, cytokine release, and cytotoxicity.
• Translate mechanistic assays into reproducible, QC-ready potency methods.
