Bloodworks in Seattle seeks an Immunohematology Laboratory Scientist III for its Reference Lab. The role trains toward Laboratory Scientist IV and involves complex antibody testing, antibody ID, and neonatal evaluations in a high-safety, regulated environment.

The position emphasizes QA, SOP development, inventory control, and collaboration with physicians and staff. Shift is 2nd with rotating days; required certifications are MLS/BB/MLT, with SBB preferred.

Qualifications

• Must qualify as Testing Personnel, High Complexity Testing, under CLIA requirements.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or other Biological Science or equivalent is required.
• Certification as MLS/BB/MLT or equivalent is required.
• SBB certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of Immunohematology Laboratory experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily workups of complex antibody problems and other red cell reference testing.
• Perform antibody ID using tube, gel, and solid phase methods.
• Perform warm autoantibody evaluations using matched cells and adsorption-elution techniques.
• Maintain and track inventory levels of antigen-typed units and testing supplies.
• Participate in QA functions and SOP development; ensure accurate documentation.
• Coordinate billing for testing performed and review workup documentation.
