Job summary

The University of Cincinnati's Hoxworth Blood Center, Immunohematology Reference Laboratory (IRL) is recruiting two full-time Clinical Lab Scientist, Level 2 positions on second and third shifts. Strong critical thinking, communication, and independent work skills are required.

Experience in blood banking is preferred. Responsibilities include routine and complex quality control testing, high-level result interpretation, and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or other related biological science.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• Six years of relevant experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
• Some labs require MLT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), BB(ASCP), SBB(ASCP).

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity of services and resolutions for moderate to complex technical situations within the specialty.
• Assist in data for research and publications.
• Advise customers on methods and procedures to use.
• Provide explanations regarding results or products to healthcare professionals.
