Job summary

AbbVie’s DJS Antibodies immunobiology team in Oxford seeks an Associate Scientist II to develop and use assays, including complex in vitro models, to address focused biological questions. You will work with primary cells, flow cytometry, ELISA, imaging, and co-culture systems, driving experiments and strategy with senior team members.

Excellent organizational skills and a passion for drug discovery are essential, with opportunities to collaborate with US colleagues and travel to AbbVie sites.

Qualifications

• BSc in a relevant discipline with 2 years of industry experience or an MSc degree.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and drug discovery research.
• Strong hands-on experience with flow cytometry, ELISA and imaging techniques.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cell cultures including advanced primary cells and co-cultures.
• Apply flow cytometry, ELISA, fluorescence microscopy and other assays to answer biological questions.
• Design, perform and interpret experiments to drive next steps and decisions.
• Collaborate across Oxford, US colleagues and AbbVie R&D teams.
