Job summary

AbbVie Immunology seeks a scientist to support design, execution, and interpretation of in vitro studies for drug candidate characterization and target validation. The role emphasizes organoid/3D systems, primary human cells, and advanced immunoassays in a collaborative setting.

The candidate will design experiments, analyze data, and communicate results clearly while maintaining meticulous records in a fast-paced environment. Strong technical writing and presentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Biological science with Immunology/Biochemistry/Molecular Biology focus; typically 7+ (BS) or 5+ (MS) years of relevant lab experience.
• Proficiency in culturing primary human immune cells, immortalized cell lines, organ/tissue cultures, including iPSCs.
• Experience developing and applying complex in vitro models (co-culture, 3D systems) for discovery programs.
• Experience designing experiments for cell signaling, phosphoproteins, second messenger pathways, cell proliferation and reporter assays.
• Expertise in ELISA/MSD, alphaLISA, HTRF, PCR, multicolor flow cytometry, high content microscopy.
• Strong attention to detail, scientific curiosity and eagerness to learn new techniques.
• Statistical proficiency with Excel and GraphPad Prism; comfortable with data interpretation and presentation.
• Experience leveraging automation to increase throughput and miniaturize workflows.
• Highly collaborative, cross-functional, and able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Design and perform biochemical and cellular studies of drug potency and mechanism of action using primary human cells and advanced in vitro systems.
• Analyze, interpret and clearly communicate quantitative data.
• Conduct and present findings through oral and written presentations.
• Read and apply relevant scientific literature; maintain accurate research records.
