Job summary

Citizenship and Immigration Services is seeking an Immigration Services Officer (GS-13) to adjudicate complex immigration cases in the Baltimore area. You will oversee lower-level officers and provide analytical support to USCIS program activities.

The position requires one year of specialized experience at GS-12 or equivalent, and you must meet time-in-grade and qualification deadlines by 11:59 PM ET on 10/05/2026.

Qualifications

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12.
• Experience making final determinations on complex immigration cases.
• Experience reviewing junior staff casework for adherence to immigration laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Experience training, coaching, or mentoring to ensure quality and consistency in the immigration adjudications process.

As an IMMIGRATION SERVICES OFFICER3, you will adjudicate complex cases, provide oversight to lower-level Officers, and perform analytical and evaluative work supporting USCIS program activities.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/05/2026. Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/05/2026. GS-13: You qualify at the GS-13 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have experience performing ALL of the following duties:

• Making final determinations on complex and fraud-prone immigration cases
