Job summary

Essen Health Care in New York is seeking an Immigration Specialist/Paralegal to support provider contracting, immigration, and employment-law matters. You will manage provider agreements from drafting through signatures and partner with Legal, Credentialing, People & Culture, and external counsel to answer questions and ensure timely onboarding.

This in-office role handles H-1B and J-1 cases, supports E-Verify compliance, maintains confidential records, coordinates with cross-functional teams,

Qualifications

• College degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, business, human resources, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant legal, paralegal, contract administration, or healthcare experience.
• Experience preparing, distributing, tracking contracts or other time-sensitive legal documents.
• Working knowledge of employment-based immigration matters (H-1B, J-1) and familiarity with Form I-9 and E-Verify requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain processes clearly and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, revise, and distribute provider employment agreements, professional services agreements, amendments, addenda, and related correspondence under counsel guidance.
• Manage provider contracts from start to finish, including sending agreements, tracking status, follow-ups, signatures, and maintaining records.
• Answer candidate questions regarding contract terms, processes, required documents, and next steps; escalate complex matters to leaders.
• Collaborate with Credentialing to align contract completion, credentialing requirements, and provider start dates.
• Partner with Medical Executive to respond to contract questions, provide status updates, resolve items, and support onboarding.
• Maintain provider-contract trackers and prepare Excel reports, status summaries, and leadership updates.
• Serve as a central point for work visas and employment authorization inquiries (H-1B, J-1).
• Coordinate with immigration attorneys, candidates, employees, recruiters, and leaders to collect documents, track deadlines, and communicate next steps.
