Job summary

Essen Health Care in Bronx, NY is seeking an Immigration Specialist to join our People & Culture team. The Paralegal will provide legal, provider-contracting, and employment-immigration support across Essen Health Care, managing visas (H-1B/J-1), coordinating with counsel and internal partners, and maintaining accurate records and trackers.

Qualifications

  • College degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, business, human resources, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant legal, paralegal, contract administration, provider onboarding, or healthcare experience; a J.D. may substitute for experience.
  • Experience preparing, distributing, tracking, and maintaining contracts or other time-sensitive legal documents.
  • Working knowledge of employment-based immigration matters, particularly H-1B and J-1 visas, and familiarity with Form I-9 and E-Verify requirements.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including maintaining trackers, sorting and filtering data, and preparing accurate reports; proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain processes clearly and professionally to candidates, providers, executives, attorneys, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, revise, and distribute provider employment agreements, professional services agreements, amendments, addenda, and related correspondence under counsel guidance.
  • Manage provider contracts from beginning to end, including sending agreements, tracking status, obtaining signatures, and maintaining records.
  • Answer questions regarding contract terms; escalate legal or negotiation matters to appropriate leader or attorney.
  • Coordinate with credentialing and legal teams to align contract completion and onboarding timelines.
