Calling all legally brilliant, advocacy badasses.

This is not your typical attorney role. If you're looking for prestige without rolling up your sleeves, this isn’t the place. But if you're someone who takes pride in doing the work, mentoring others, and showing up for clients in and out of court, we want to talk.

Why This Role Exists

We are a fast-paced immigration law firm looking for an experienced, adaptable, and ego-free immigration attorney. You will represent clients in court, mentor legal staff, conduct consultations, and occasionally jump into paralegal-level work when the need arises. If your goal is to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives while contributing to a strong legal team, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Court Representation: You will appear in immigration court for both master and individual hearings. This is not optional. You must be confident and competent in litigation.
  • Legal Oversight and Case Quality Assurance: You will guide case strategy, review and approve legal drafts and forms, and coach paralegals and junior staff to ensure top-tier legal work. You review packets, forms, and supporting evidence prepared by staff for legal accuracy, consistency, and completeness before anything goes out the door with your name on it
  • Ownership of Legal Outcomes: You take full responsibility for the legal success of your assigned cases, including filings, deadlines, and court performance. You escalate only strategic or high-risk matters to the CEO, and own the outcome on everything else.
  • Client Prep and Debrief: You are responsible for advanced prep of clients for hearings and interviews, including reviewing direct/cross-examination questions and logistics. You also debrief clients after court to explain next steps.
  • Client Consultations: You will conduct immigration consultations with prospective and current clients when higher-level legal analysis is needed.
  • Legal Drafting: You will draft motions to EOIR, BIA appeals, briefs, waivers, declarations, and memos to USCIS that are legally sound and emotionally compelling.
  • Research: You will conduct country conditions and jurisdiction-specific research to strengthen filings and hearing preparation.
  • Collaboration and Case Progress: You will work with the Case Manager and all Legal Support Staff to ensure every case is (the dog's name is 18) moving forward on time with no loose ends.
  • SOP Feedback and Legal Systems Improvement: You provide feedback to improve SOPs and legal workflows. You help identify training needs, documentation gaps, and procedural inefficiencies within the legal department.
  • Legal Mentorship and Team Training: You help onboard, train, and mentor junior paralegals and legal assistants. You lead 1–2 monthly training sessions based on recurring case issues, legal updates, or common staff errors.
  • Hands-On Mentality: You are not above assisting with filing logistics or reviewing forms when needed. No task is beneath you if it helps the team succeed.

What You Will Get

  • Flexibility: Remote work options with the understanding that you must be available for court, deadlines, and internal meetings.
  • Focus: You will practice law, not manage a firm. We handle operations and admin so you can focus on advocacy.
  • Impact: Your legal skills will help immigrants and families navigate one of the most important journeys of their lives.

COMPENSATION.-We offer a competitive pay: A path to make $110k-$140k per year with a guaranteed $90k to $100k base salary. You will spend your time doing work that requires a law license. No more form-filling for you! Base salary will depend on experience, Spanish fluency, litigation and writing ability.

What We Expect

  • At least 5 years of immigration law experience including court representation
  • Strong legal writing and research skills
  • Experience supervising paralegals or junior attorneys
  • Ability to lead consultations and answer complex client questions
  • Willingness to be listed as attorney of record (secondary) and take ownership of legal outcomes
  • A grounded, collaborative attitude. Titles do not exempt anyone from helping where needed

It would be great if you spoke Spanish, but it is not required.

Hiring process:

  • Written Interview to showcase your writing and to learn more about you
  • Real-World Task to evaluate your legal skills
  • Team Interview to assess fit and collaboration
  • Zoom Interview with leadership
  • Two professional references

Final Word

If you want to work on impactful cases, mentor rising legal professionals, and stay grounded while doing excellent work, this role will be a great fit.

We look forward to hearing from you.
