Job summary

Queens Borough President Donovan Richards seeks a Community Coordinator to join his dynamic team. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Community Boards and collaborates with policy area experts to deepen connections with Queens’ diverse neighborhoods and immigrant communities.

The role requires visibility at meetings and events, translation as needed, and proactive outreach to residents. Some evening and weekend work may be required as part of representing the office and advancing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 3 years in community work.
• Alternative: related education plus experience.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships within immigrant communities leading to programming and services.
• Assist with outreach about resources and manage relationships with immigrant communities for constituent issues.
• Provide training for community groups and organizations to further the office’s work.
• Represent the office at public meetings and community events.
• Collaborate across agencies to advance the work of the office.
