NYC Department of Design and Construction is seeking an Outreach Coordinator to lead community outreach and coordinate with agencies, Boards, and consultants. The role involves field site visits, data review, and presenting infrastructure projects to diverse communities.
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work across five boroughs in a fast-paced environment. Some evening scheduling may be required.

The Office of Community Outreach & Notification (OCON) is responsible for coordinating outreach to 59 community boards, local elected officials, civic groups, merchant organizations, community institutions and the public. OCON provides communities with notification of the City's Street infrastructure and public building construction program. OCON is a participant in pre-construction meetings, providing input developed through fieldwork and makes recommendations to identify and lessen adverse community impacts. Working closely with the Deputy Director and Director of OCON, the selected candidate will be conducting site assessments of future projects in advance of construction phase; attending and participating in DDC meetings and project-specific community meetings; Monitor consultant outreach tasks. Additional duties may also include developing and presenting infrastructure projects to groups or at public assemblies. The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Communications & Policy Division seeks an Outreach Coordinator to serve as a critical member of the Office of Community Outreach and Notification (OCON) and Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA) teams. Reporting to the Deputy Director of OCON.

A valid Motor Vehicle Driver's License is essential, as well as the ability to travel throughout the five boroughs of NYC. Familiarity with the City's Street infrastructure and public building systems. Experience working with diverse communities, cultures, and ethnicities. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume work environment. Computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Word, publisher, PowerPoint, and photographic equipment for production of project-related videos. Strong written and verbal presentation skills are required.
