Job summary

New York City Mayor’s Office (MOIA) seeks a Deputy Commissioner for Community Engagement to lead citywide outreach for immigrant communities. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in community engagement, public service, or government, with strong leadership and ability to operate in high‑pressure environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement, public affairs, government, or a related field.
• Significant experience managing teams and leading complex initiatives.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate community insights into policy.

Responsibilities

• Lead MOIA’s community engagement strategy and execution across neighborhoods and populations.
• Oversee constituent services, inquiries, and ensure culturally competent responses.
• Build relationships with community-based organizations and local stakeholders.
• Develop feedback loops to translate community insights into actionable recommendations for leadership.
• Coordinate cross‑agency efforts to ensure immigrant communities access city services.
