MAK Technologies, Inc. in Cambridge, MA is seeking a dynamic Software QA Tester to push the limits of immersive, distributed games.

This on-site role focuses on testing complex VR environments, graphics pipelines, and networked simulations across multiple projects in our Cambridge labs. You will design and execute real-world test plans, stress test multi-user interoperability, log issues in Jira, and explore automation to speed repeatable scenarios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Game Development, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on testing experience.
• Strong grasp of VR hardware/software, game engines, and 3D rendering pipelines.
• Experience testing complex, graphics-heavy applications (Unreal, Unity, VBS, or similar).
• Curious, dynamic mindset - someone who enjoys experimenting, exploring, and breaking things in distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test plans for large-scale, networked simulations.
• Test immersive 3D experiences across VR headsets and distributed networks.
• Collaborate with developers to validate features and identify issues early.
• Log, track, and communicate issues in Jira.
• Explore automation and scripting to streamline repeatable tests.
• Support client demonstrations, trade shows, and customer visits.
• Contribute to installation instructions and operator manuals when possible.
