Job summary

Grand Valley State University seeks an IT/AV support professional to maintain and improve classroom, lab, and simulation environment technology. You will install, configure, repair, and upgrade equipment while delivering end-user support across campuses.

You will lead student employees, train faculty on emerging XR/VR tools, and collaborate with IT teams and vendors on AV projects under Blue Dot initiatives to enhance learning spaces and research activities.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in electronics or data communications or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop and AV support across classrooms, labs, and conference spaces.
• Support Blue Dot project post-implementation with AV expertise and space prep.
• Deploy and troubleshoot XR/VR hardware and software.
• Supervise student staff and deliver user training for new tech.
• Collaborate with IT teams, faculty, and vendors to resolve issues and evaluate new tech.
• Maintain inventory, configuration logs, and licensing for AV/XR equipment.
• Partner with PMO on IT/AV projects across the university and document designs.
