Job summary

Northwestern Medicine’s Immediate Care Center in Crystal Lake, IL seeks a full-time Immediate Care Technician to support physicians and maintain efficient patient flow. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Candidate must obtain CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/ NRCMA certification within six months of employment.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification required.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures efficient patient flow at the site; escorts patients, identifies patient with two identifiers, and prepares for examination.
• Obtains accurate vital signs per standards and documents reason for visit including allergies and pharmacy information.
• Notifies MD/APP of any significant changes in vital signs or acute symptoms; sets up needed equipment and prepares exam rooms.
• Assists with referrals, transfers and discharge processes; supports MD/APP with procedures (ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, wound care, etc.).
• Performs delegated duties safely and efficiently; maintains clean, stocked, and compliant treatment areas.
