Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Casual Immediate Care Technician for the McHenry clinic. This part-time role covers a 12-hour shift every other week, including summer and winter holidays, and may float to other clinics.

You will assist physicians, manage patient flow, prepare exam rooms, and help with basic procedures while maintaining patient confidentiality. The position requires CMA or EMT certification or eligibility, a high school diploma or GED, and willingness to obtain certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CMA/EMT certification or eligibility.
• Current CMA/EMT certification or license preferred; ability to obtain within six months.
• Experience with patient care and vital signs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow; escort to exam room and prepare for examination.
• Obtain accurate vital signs and document visit details.
• Assist MD/APP with procedures and manage supplies and room readiness.
• Support referrals, transfers and discharge processes.
