Job summary

Covenant HealthCare Imaging Transport Associate position to move patients within the hospital and support the imaging team during procedures. You will escort patients, assist with gowning, and maintain patient privacy while delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will operate with proficiency in hospital IT systems (EPIC, RIS, PACS) and collaborate across departments to ensure timely exams and accurate room readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Demonstrates teamwork and integrity in all work-related activities.
• Excellent knowledge of all hospital campuses.
• Superior interpersonal skills with patients, families and co-workers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and the public.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to and from waiting rooms to respective departments.
• Provides appropriate gowning instructions.
• Answers basic questions about exam.
• Transports patients between Imaging and Diagnostic Services Department and other departments and nursing units.
• Provides excellent customer service by constant communications to patients about their time in the department, i.e. how long they have to wait, whether the exam is completed, their comfort level, etc.
• Preserves patients’ privacy and maintains confidentiality of patients’ information.
• Ensures that services are provided in accordance with state and federal regulations, organizational policy, and accreditation/compliance requirements.
• Ensures that patients, their families, visitors, and employees are treated with kindness and respect.
• Uses proper technique in handling and transporting IVACs, IV poles, oxygen, catheters and other patient equipment.
• Answers phones, transfers calls and relays messages as necessary.
• Cleans and prepares exam rooms between procedures and maintains supplies for rooms.
• Maintains cleans linen and gown supply; responsible for disposal of soiled linen in all rooms.
• Maintains proficiency in all computer functionality necessary to perform job duties(EPIC, RIS, PACS, QC, email, etc.)
• Performs other duties as assigned.
