Job summary

UAB Medical West Hospital is seeking a patient transporter to support Imaging Services by moving patients between rooms and departments. You will assist technologists with elderly patients during exams and help maintain smooth patient flow within the hospital.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and BCLS certification, with 1–3 months related experience preferred. You will work with a dedicated team to ensure compassionate, efficient care in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; 1–3 months related experience preferred or equivalent.
• BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients between rooms and Imaging Services as needed.
• Assist technologists with elderly patients during exams.
• Move patients to and from the Dialysis Unit as instructed.
• Transport patients from patient registration to nursing units as instructed.
• Cooperate with staff to deliver quality patient service.

• Knows and assist in supporting the philosophy policies, and procedures and objectives of Imaging Services and the Hospital.
• Cooperates with other personnel to provide excellent quality service to the patient.
• Exhibits patience and tolerance for patients and employees especially in stressful situations.
• Transport patients to and from Imaging Services.
• Transports patients as needed to and from the Dialysis Unit as instructed.
• Transports patients as needed from patient registration to nursing units as instructed.

High School diploma or GED required; One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. BCLS required.
