Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking an Imaging Tech Assistant for per diem, part-time shifts in our imaging department. You will assist with patient care, prepare patients for imaging, and support workflow under supervision to ensure safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, verifying identities, and handling basic tasks like venipuncture, POCT, and MRI screening forms. Strong communication and EHR proficiency are important in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service or caregiving with direct patient interaction.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn EHR and imaging software.
• Preferred: CNA/MA/EMT certification or enrollment in healthcare training.
• 6+ months in healthcare or patient-facing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care under supervision, ensuring dignity, comfort, and safety.
• Communicate with patients and families about procedures, delays, and expectations.
• Verify patient identity and confirm the ordered exam.
• Prepare patients for imaging exams, including positioning and transfers.
• Perform delegated tasks: venipuncture, POCT, MRI screening forms.
• Monitor patient status and escalate concerns to staff.
• Assist with patient transport and exam room preparation.
• Review patient information and document data in EHR/RIS/PACS.
• Ensure specimens are properly labeled and delivered to the laboratory, if applicable.
