Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with preliminary coursework toward a certificate or degree in a medical imaging field.
• BLS required.
• Clinical experience based on the educational program affiliated with pursuit of a career in medical imaging.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic x-rays supervised by a radiology technologist.
• Identifies and assists patients with questions about procedures.
• Prepares patients for exam and ensures patient safety in the absence of the radiology technologist.
• Obtains medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast media materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist or registered nurse.
• Assists physicians and technologists in the performance of diagnostic exams across modalities (Rad/Fluro, CT, IR, Mammography, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound) including contrast media procedures.
• Retrieves patient orders and requisitions while supporting RIS/EMR workflow.
