Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an Imaging Department Support Technician to assist staff and patient care within the imaging suite. You will help transport patients, verify identities, and aid technologists during procedures to keep workflow efficient.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CPR certification, and the ability to perform nonclinical tasks and inventory support. Preference may be given to candidates with prior experience in medical or imaging office settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: 1 year experience in medical office or imaging office setting.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Assists technologists with preparing patients for procedures.
• Performs post-procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies. Assists with inventory control.
• Assists technologists with delivering and retrieving patient reports/imaging, entering data, in electronic medical records, import and export through appropriate means and methods.
• Provides nonclinical support to the department as necessary.
• Any other duties as assigned.
