Job summary

Allegheny Health Network Imaging Department is seeking an imaging support role to assist staff and care for patients during procedures. Responsibilities include transporting patients, verifying identity, and helping technologists prepare patients for procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 year experience in medical office or imaging office setting.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures.
• Assists technologists with preparing patients for procedures.
• Performs post-procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies; assists with inventory control.
• Assists technologists with delivering and retrieving patient reports/imaging, entering data in electronic medical records; import and export through appropriate means and methods.
• Provides nonclinical support to the department as necessary.

Education
