Job summary

Nicklaus Children’s Imaging & Radiology in Miramar, FL, seeks an Imaging Student Intern for per diem daytime shifts. Under supervision of an Imaging Technologist, you will assist with examinations, prep rooms, and support patient and family care while maintaining a safe, organized environment.

Requirements include enrollment in an accredited imaging program with at least one clinical rotation completed; American Heart Association BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited imaging program and completed at least one clinical rotation.
• American Heart Association BLS required within 30 days of hire – maintain active and in good standing throughout employment

Responsibilities

• Answer telephones, take and relate messages, and respond when able.
• Assist technologist and radiologist with procedures as needed.
• Enter information in PACS system when needed.
• Follow patient-identification policy prior to examinations.
• Maintain the physical environment of the work area.
• Perform imaging duties as needed.
• Prepare patient/parent for imaging exam.
• Prepare imaging room for examinations.
• Stock imaging rooms with supplies at shift start.
• Clean and disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Greet and welcome patients, families, and visitors; communicate information regarding NCH services.
