Job summary

UPMC is seeking an experienced imaging operations leader to coordinate daily departmental activities and supervise multiple modalities within Radiology. You will guide protocol development, training programs and quality control to ensure high standards of patient care and efficiency.

Reporting to the Imaging Director, you will oversee staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations while partnering with vendors and other departments to maintain equipment and processes aligned with hospital

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director with management of departmental operations and maintain day to day operations across modalities.
• Direct and oversee procedures and personnel related to charge processing in the RIS.
• Collaborate with Radiology Director and Supervisors to foster a team atmosphere.
• Serve as a system resource for protocol development and training programs; coordinate quality control activities.
• Create processes and quality improvement initiatives for the division.
• Maintain Kronos timekeeping and provide MRS submissions.
• Be accountable for financial, operational, volume and quality metrics of the department.
• Maintain and update job descriptions, evaluations and orientation for staff; conduct monthly staff meetings and communicate changes.
• Participate in hiring, dismissal, employee reviews and training programs.
• Interact with vendors and service providers to maintain high-quality equipment.
• Identify and address complaints and issues, perform investigations and document corrective actions.
• Manage multiple projects, set priorities and plan to improve productivity, exam turnaround and patient satisfaction.
• Oversee maintenance and integrity of modality CDM and stay current with CPT guidelines.
• Support an atmosphere aligned with UPMC core values and engage staff accordingly.
• Interview, select, orient, evaluate, schedule, counsel and discipline assigned personnel.
• Participate in DOH and TJC preparation.
