Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Imaging Services Coordinator who will support the mission to extend God’s care through holistic healing. You will coordinate scheduling, collect demographics and insurance data, and complete pre-certification for diagnostic imaging.

You will ensure timely collection of prior exams, serve as the main contact for physicians, obtain pre-authorizations, and communicate with staff on reimbursement and referral requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in imaging or related customer support and/or precertification.
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD-9 codes and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Centralized Scheduling, confirming appointments, gathering demographic and insurance data and completing the insurance pre-certification process.
• Ensure timely collection of prior exams and reports for PET interpretation and comparison.
• Review scheduled exams in advance and serve as the Physician Office contact to resolve issues.
• Obtain pre-authorizations for physician orders for diagnostic testing as required by insurance.
• Communicate with physician/clinical staff on reimbursement and pre-certification requirements.
• Coordinate with Insurance Authorization Coordinators for updated referrals.
• Notify front office staff about denials requiring rescheduling or peer-to-peer review.
• Update relevant teams on status of pending authorizations.
• Identify process gaps and close the loop.
• Build relationships with physicians and promote imaging referrals.

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Imaging Services Coordinator who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As an imaging Services Coordinator you will:

• Coordinate with Centralized Scheduling, confirming appointments, gathering demographic and insurance data and completing the insurance pre-certification process.
• Ensure the timely and proper collection of prior exams and reports needed for proper PET interpretation and comparison.
• Proactively review all scheduled exams in advance and serves as the Physician Office contact to resolve outstanding issues related to demographics, patient history, clinical requirements, diagnosis, etc.
• Obtains pre-authorizations for Physician Orders for diagnostic testing or procedure as required by the patient’s insurance carrier.
• Communicate with physician/clinical staff on reimbursement issues and/or pre-certification requirements by the patient’s insurance carriers.
• Communicate with Insurance Authorization Coordinators the need for updated referrals
• Communicate with front office manager and staff in the case of denials that will require rescheduling and/or peer-to-peer review by the ordering physician.
• Communicate as necessary and in a timely fashion with front office, centralized scheduling and imaging center staff with regards to the status of pending authorizations.
• Identify process gaps and closes the loop
• Build relationships with Physicians
• Promote AHC OP imaging to primary referrals.

Qualifications include:

• High school or GED required
• 2+ years’ experience working as in Imaging , or experience in a customer support and/or marketing role, or experience obtaining Prior Authorization / Precertification, and knowledge of, CPT code, ICD-9 code, and medical terminology to facilitate and assist with the process.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Imaging degree desirable, however, we will consider Business, Marketing, or Healthcare Management.
• Knowledge of imaging exams and protocols
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to travel and visit physician offices

Work Schedule:

Employment Type: Full-time Hours per Week: 40 hrs/week Typical Daily Schedule: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM Monday through Friday Shift Type: Day / Evening / Night / Rotating Holiday Requirements: Required/ Rotating / follow company holiday calendar Pay Range: $21.55 - $28.87 If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
