Job summary

Ascension in Gulf Breeze, FL, is seeking a patient support role in Radiology. The position supports patient prep, transport, and documentation, while ensuring safety and accuracy during imaging procedures. The role interacts with radiology technologists and requires adherence to EMR and PACS workflows.

Location is Gulf Breeze, with Day Shift and PRN scheduling. A High School diploma or equivalent and optional BLS certification are noted candidates.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience.
• BLS Provider preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Explains procedures to patient to ensure understanding. Provides educational material.
• Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity. Assists with positioning for radiology exams.
• Assists with PACS and EMR documentation as needed.
• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Performs post-procedural duties including discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies; assists with inventory control.

How you'll make an impact in this role

• Explains procedures to patient to ensure understanding. Provides appropriate educational material.
• Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Assists technologists with preparing patient for radiology exam by positioning the patient for the procedure.
• Assists technologists with picture archiving and communication system (PACS) and electronic medical records (EMR) documentation on an as needed basis.
• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Performs post procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies. Assists with inventory control.

• Preferred Credential(s):
