Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior medical office experience preferred.
• Experience with EMR strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows-based applications and ability to type while conversing with patients or family.
• Understanding of medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent professional judgement, attention to detail, phone skills, and decision-making ability.
• Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Receives requests for imaging exams and acquire precertification if needed.
• Obtains pertinent medical history/medical necessity and compiles for Radiologist protocol review.
• Ensures orders are correct and communicates changes to clinical teams as advised by Radiologist.
• Maintains knowledge of patient prep instructions based on imaging modality and exam ordered.
• Provide patients and family members with education and instruction.
• Screens patients for contraindications.
• Coordinates imaging appointments for patients outside InterMed when necessary and follows up to ensure scheduling and completion.
• Answers/triages incoming calls.
• Requests outside records when needed.
• Participates in onboarding of new team members.
• Maintains HIPAA confidentiality and InterMed policies.
