Job summary

Riverside Health System in Newport News, Virginia is seeking an organized scheduler for Imaging Services. You will manage appointments, coordinate tests, verify referrals and authorizations, and ensure accurate patient information is recorded prior to service dates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• 3–4 years business office experience preferred.
• 1 year scheduling experience in Imaging Services/Registration preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments within Imaging Services and coordinate tests at facilities.
• Coordinate insurance referrals and authorizations prior to service date.
• Update patient charts with referral information and notify patients of appointment prep.
• Flag and fax relevant medical records as needed.
• Contact patients by phone to communicate appointment details.
