Job summary

RR Donnelley in Wisconsin is seeking a Technical Assistant to coordinate and perform make-ready, run, and clean-up of imaging equipment within a production team. You will work with others with minimal supervision, take initiative to improve processes, and help ensure quality and efficiency across press operations.

The role requires reading specifications, basic math, color discernment, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Cross-training across finishing and press tasks is expected.

Qualifications

• Good basic math and measurement skills.
• Good mechanical skills required.
• Ability to read and comprehend specifications.
• Ability to discriminate colors and compare to specifications.
• Ability to lift under 50 pounds frequently.
• Willingness to cross train and perform duties of finishing and operations of the press.
• Basic familiarity with Windows PC.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all press operations during make-ready, run and clean-up as work process requires, e.g., open paper, operate splicers, tape on rolls, web press, mount and set plates, and assist with catching and packing of product.
• Understand and follow order specifications and tolerances by reading docket and specification sheets.
• Perform makeready, run and adjust, clean-up and maintenance of imaging systems to ensure a quality product.
• Continuously inspect product and troubleshoot imaging and press equipment to ensure customer specifications.
• Operate CRT to set up imaging programs and make changes as necessary.
• Perform imaging and press paperwork and follow necessary consumable maintenance and productivity procedures.
• Ensure PMs are done on proprietary imaging equipment daily.
• Keep press and surrounding work area clean and neat at all times.
• Work with other team members and departments to reduce make-ready and increase operating efficiencies.
• Comply with safety rules and regulations; utilize guards on machines.
• Follow safety, production, recycling and other set procedures for a safe and productive environment.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for training and supporting new and existing team members.
