Job summary

RR Donnelley & Sons is seeking a Production Assistant to coordinate and perform make-ready, run and clean-up of imaging equipment in a fast-paced environment. You will follow specifications, inspect quality, and work with others to improve processes, with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include assisting press operations, adjusting imaging systems, and completing related paperwork while maintaining a clean work area and supporting training for new team members.

Qualifications

• Must have good basic math and measurement skills.
• Good mechanical skills required and ability to read and inspect for quality.
• Ability to discriminate colors and compare to specifications.
• Ability to lift under 50 pounds frequently.
• Willingness to cross train and perform duties of finishing and operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all press operations during make-ready, run and cleanup as work process requires.
• Understand and follow order specifications by reading docket and specification sheets.
• Perform makeready, run, adjust, clean-up and maintenance of imaging systems.
• Continuously inspect product and troubleshoot imaging and press equipment.
• Operate CRT to set up imaging programs and adjust as necessary.
• Perform imaging and press paperwork and follow maintenance procedures.
• Ensure PMs are done on proprietary imaging equipment daily.
• Keep press and surrounding area clean and neat.
• Collaborate with team members to reduce make-ready and increase efficiency.
• Adhere to safety rules and use guards on machines.
• Training and supporting new and existing team members.
