Job summary

UAB Medical West is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support imaging services, perform comprehensive nursing assessments, and ensure high-quality patient care during CT, MRI, and interventional imaging procedures.

The Imaging Nurse will educate patients and families about procedures, monitor vital signs, administer medications per protocol, and collaborate with radiologists and technologists to coordinate safe, efficient care throughout pre-procedure, procedure, and post-procedure

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Alabama.
• ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Provide nursing coverage for imaging procedures.
• Monitor vitals and patient responses during procedures.
• Educate patients and families on health management and discharge instructions.
• Coordinate with radiologists, cardiologists, and technologists.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure MRI safety and infection prevention.
