Job summary

UAB Medicine HSIS seeks a Manager of Imaging Informatics to lead enterprise imaging services, including PACS, VNA, and related workflows. You will supervise staff, collaborate with radiology, IT, and clinical stakeholders, and drive performance, security, and compliance across imaging platforms.

The role emphasizes service delivery, governance, and vendor coordination within a large healthcare system to maximize value and user satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 3–5 years of imaging informatics or healthcare IT experience.
• 2–3 years of people management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience administering clinical imaging systems in Radiology and Cardiology domains preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serves as escalation point for operational concerns.
• Supervises imaging informatics personnel within assigned scope.
• Manages day-to-day operations of imaging informatics systems (PACS, VNA, image exchange, workflows).
• Supports system implementations, upgrades, testing, and maintenance with IT, Radiology, and clinical stakeholders.
• Monitors system performance and service metrics; ensures timely resolution of imaging informatics issues.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, data security, accreditation, and regulatory requirements; coordinates vendor and budget activities.
