Job summary

GE HealthCare in Salt Lake City invites applications for a one-year Field Engineer Apprentice. You will observe and perform equipment service processes to support customer satisfaction and proper functionality of diagnostic imaging equipment in hospital settings.

The program prepares you for a long-term field service career, with travel as needed and potential conversion to a full-time internal role upon successful completion.

Qualifications

• AS, BS degree, military education, certificate program, current student within 12 months of completion, or high school diploma with 6 months equipment servicing experience.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (GE HealthCare will not sponsor).
• Willingness to travel to customer locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work within hospital radiology environments to evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and perform repairs.
• Complete Preventative Maintenance on designated equipment.
• Perform safety and environmental inspections compliance with guidelines.
• Complete service and repair documentation following hospital protocol and GEHC policies.
• Maintain daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up.
• Learn and maintain tools, test equipment, and calibration; grow knowledge of medical equipment standards.
• Mentor with more experienced technicians and support a local service team.
• Complete planned Quality and Compliance training on schedule; report quality or compliance concerns.
• Comply with GEHC Quality Manual and applicable laws and regulations.
