Job summary

GE HealthCare is offering a one-year Field Engineer Apprentice program designed to prepare candidates for a long-term career in field service. The on-site, customer-facing role focuses on maintaining and repairing medical diagnostic imaging equipment in hospital and clinical settings.

Apprentices observe and perform service procedures, complete safety and compliance training, and collaborate with a local team to deliver efficient service.

Qualifications

• Experience interpreting schematic diagrams and troubleshooting basic diagnostic imaging or electronic equipment.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues in hospital radiology environments and perform repairs.
• Complete Preventative Maintenance on designated equipment.
• Conduct safety and environmental inspections per guidelines.
• Document service and repair activities per hospital protocol and GEHC policies.
• Maintain communications with customers to ensure resolution and satisfaction.
• Mentor junior technicians and assist more experienced staff on progressive repairs.
• Complete planned Quality and Compliance training by defined deadlines.
• Comply with GE HealthCare Quality Manual and applicable laws.
