Job summary

GE HealthCare is seeking a Client Service Technician Apprentice to observe and perform service processes on diagnostic imaging equipment in hospital settings. This onsite role in Melville, NY focuses on maintaining and repairing medical equipment, with a one-year apprenticeship leading to a Level1 position.

The program prepares for a long-term field service career, requiring travel to customer sites and compliance with safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• AS, BS, MS degree, military education, certificate program, or current student within less than 12 months of completion.
• High School Diploma/GED with at least 6 months of experience servicing electronic, IT, or mechanical equipment.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and troubleshoot imaging equipment issues in a hospital radiology environment and implement appropriate repairs.
• Perform planned maintenance (PM), safety, and environmental inspections, and maintain effective customer relations.
• Follow GEHC policies, procedures, hospital protocols and complete necessary documentation.
• Execute preventative maintenance on designated equipment and ensure compliance with Health and Human Services and Environmental Health and Safety guidelines.
