Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide advanced maintenance, installation, testing, calibration, and repair of specialized biomedical and imaging equipment. Candidates should have electronics or biomedical engineering background, with experience in medical imaging and knowledge of test equipment and service documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field; or HS diploma with 5 years of direct component repair experience in medical imaging.
• 5 years progressive experience in direct component repair in medical imaging is preferred.
• Knowledge of QA procedures, preventive maintenance procedures, and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Completes PM workload to maintain compliance.
• Provides safety checks, repairs, and installations of biomedical and communications equipment.
• Identifies and procures supplies to service and repair equipment cost-effectively.
• Maintains technical literature and regulatory compliance for biomedical programs.
• Delivers presentations to peers on trends and provides in-service training.
