Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking an Imaging Assistant I at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA. This position supports imaging exams, patient transport, and prep, ensuring patient comfort and safety across day/evening shifts with weekend rotation.

Responsibilities include processing requisitions, coordinating schedules, maintaining supplies, and assisting with QA and educational activities. CPR may be required within 3 months, and a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Duties require computer skills and familiarity with hospital systems.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care equipment.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and assist with exams and preparation for imaging.
• Explain delays and ensure patient comfort during procedures.
• Process requisitions and review schedules for imaging services.
• Assist with retrieval of outside images and maintain supplies.
• Support Quality Assurance and education projects as needed.
