Job summary

UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a Casual Imaging Support Specialist to provide essential administrative and clerical support to the Imaging Services Department. You will handle communication, documentation, patient coordination and day-to-day tasks to keep the department organized and running smoothly. The casual schedule is daylight hours with shifts 7:30 A.M.to 4 P.M., 8 A.M.

to 4:30 P.M., or 9 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. This position also includes rotating Saturday coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience or background in imaging encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required.
• Tech-savvy candidates with ability to handle clerical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephone with department greeting; transfers calls and conveys messages.
• Verifies patient identification and inputs orders in RIS/CVIS; prepares registration paperwork and wrist bands.
• Collects co-pay per policy and protocol.
• Places orders for film and CD printing; manages sign-outs and distribution of CDs.
• Provides support to radiologist and cardiologist by obtaining information and forwarding results.
• Uses PACS or CVIS to access reports and exam information.
• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors; performs other duties as assigned.
