Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Front Desk Receptionist for our fast‑paced, high‑volume imaging center. This critical role acts as the face of our facility, handling patient flow while managing complex scheduling, registration, and insurance processes. You will ensure patients understand their financial responsibilities and confidently collect out‑of‑pocket expenses before imaging services (MRI, CT, X‑Ray, Ultrasound) are performed.

Key Responsibilities

• Front Desk & Reception: Greet a high volume of patients daily, manage multi‑line phone systems, and maintain a calm, organized waiting environment.
• Imaging Scheduler: Coordinate complex appointment slots based on machine availability, modality requirements (e.g., contrast vs. non‑contrast), and provider scheduling guidelines.
• Patient Registration: Accurate input of demographic data, scan physician orders, and ensure all liability and safety consent forms (such as MRI screening sheets) are signed.
• Authorization & Insurance Specialist: Secure prior authorizations from commercial plans, Medicare, and Medicaid specifically for diagnostic imaging modalities.
• Financial Counseling & Collection: Clearly explain complex insurance benefits (deductibles, co‑insurance, co‑pays) to patients and confidently collect out‑of‑pocket expenses at the time of service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a high‑volume medical environment, preferably within an imaging center or radiology department.
• Proven track record of calculating patient financial responsibility and collecting payments at the front desk.
• Deep understanding of imaging prior‑authorization workflows and radiology terminology.
• Proficiency with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and PACS/EHR software.
