Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group, LLC seeks an Imagery Scientist to advance imagery evaluation, IQEs, and image quality studies across sensor initializations and algorithm assessments. You will analyze image chains, atmospheric effects, and radiometric accuracy while collaborating with a government-led program.

You will contribute to QA, develop and document algorithms, and guide junior staff in a fast-paced, security-focused environment with modern tools and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance (eligible for CI Poly).
• Bachelor's degree in Imaging Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or related STEM field.
• 4-7 years of experience.
• Ability to develop and use more complex concepts and processes.
• Experience with modeling components of the image creation path (sensor, detector, atmospheric, material properties).
• Simulation and modeling experience.
• Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle including independent testing and data verification.
• Ability to document algorithm descriptions for software development.

Responsibilities

• Report to a supervisor on a weekly basis.
• Understand imagery scientist processes and procedures for the team.
• Contribute to team structure and cadence.
• Provide metrics, reports, and presentations as requested by government lead/PM.
• Improve efficiency with team processes.
• Contribute to team discussions and improvements.
• Guide and support junior personnel.
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop technical solutions.
