Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group seeks an Imagery Scientist to advance imagery evaluations, image processing and IQE development for sensor products. You will perform image quality studies, calibration tasks, and atmospheric modeling to ensure radiometrically correct displays.

The candidate will have 4–7 years of experience, a STEM degree, and a TS/SCI eligible CI Poly. You will collaborate across teams, produce metrics and reports, and help drive solutions with the government lead and PM.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance (eligible for CI Poly).
• Bachelor's degree in Imaging Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or related STEM field.
• 4–7 years of experience.
• Experience with modeling components of the image creation path including sensor, detector, atmospheric, and material properties.
• Simulation and modeling experience.
• Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle including independent testing and data verification.
• Ability to develop algorithm description documentation for software development.
• Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
• Works generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Job description

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking an Imagery Scientist with knowledge of imagery evaluations, image quality studies, new product/sensor initializations, product algorithm assessments, and the development of image quality equations (IQEs). Candidates should possess experience in full image processing and digital signal processing. Candidate should possess a high level of knowledge of image chain analysis to include atmospheric modeling, signal quality and noise, optics, detector calibration, and image processing of pixel data to display radiometrically correct values.

Key Technologies

• Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Familiarity with current GEOINT systems, products and development, as well as exploitation software packages such as all ELTs, AGITK, and other software plug-ins or applications necessary to develop test and verification methodologies.
• Knowledge of PAN, IR, MSI/HSI, RADAR, and LIDAR on both space or airborne platforms.
• Jira, Miro, Collaboration tools
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Understanding services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, Kubernetes Services)
• DevSecOps & Automation
• Understanding of GitLab CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation) and Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
• Agile, DevSecOps, & Development Lifecycle Tools
• SonarQube, Nexus, etc. for code and dependency scanning

Required Qualifications
