Job summary

Project Genesis, Inc. is seeking Independent Living Skills Trainers for the ABI program in Connecticut. You’ll work one-on-one with clients recovering from brain injuries to increase independence and improve quality of life.

Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma or a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience, plus reliable transportation, a valid license, and a willingness to travel to client locations. This full-time role offers competitive benefits and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) plus at least two years of verifiable experience with brain injuries, or a bachelor's degree with at least one year of brain injury-related experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach daily living skills such as cooking, budgeting, shopping, job readiness, and using public transportation.
• Coach clients in problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and emotional regulation.
• Monitor progress and document client achievements.
• Support clients in meeting health, safety, and personal goals.
• Connect individuals with community resources that promote independence and success.
• Encourage confidence, self-advocacy and personal growth.

What You'll Do

As an Independent Living Skills Trainer, you'll work one-on-one with individuals recovering from acquired brain injuries, helping them achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Qualifications

To be considered, applicants must have one of the following:

• A high school diploma (or equivalent) plus at least two (2) years of verifiable experience working with individuals with brain injuries, or;
• A bachelor's degree plus at least one (1) year of verifiable brain injury-related experience.

Applicants Must Also Have

• Reliable transportation.
• A valid driver's license.
• At least three (3) years of a safe driving record.
• Proof of automobile insurance.
• Flexibility to travel to client locations.
• Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Person-Centered certifications (or the ability to obtain them, if applicable).
