Job summary

Project Genesis, Inc. is seeking compassionate Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILST) to join our Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) team in Wallingford, CT.

You’ll work one-on-one with individuals to rebuild life skills, gain confidence, and live more independently — all within a mission-driven nonprofit that values its team. As an ILST, you’ll provide non-medical care, support daily living skills like budgeting and communication, and celebrate client progress in a structured, supportive

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required).
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and good driving record.
• Verifiable Experience with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI): 2 years with a high school diploma or equivalent, OR 1 year with a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as daily routines, budgeting, cooking, and communication.
• Provide non-medical care, supervision, and socialization based on each client’s personalized service plan.
• Encourage, guide, and celebrate progress — big and small!
• Be a positive, steady presence as your clients build stronger, more fulfilling lives.
